Senior Visual Communications Designer | U.S. House of Representatives
May 2016–Present

  • I create print and digital products, such as brochures, reports, manuals, digital billboards, web graphics, social media content, newsletters, and more, as an in-house designer for the Clerk of the House.

  • I design and produce event materials (invitations, programs, signage, etc.) on behalf of the House Speaker for high-profile events in collaboration with Congressional leadership and the President of the United States.

  • I design and edit history books with the House Historian, and I collaborate with the House Curator to produce art exhibitions in and around the U.S. Capitol.

Freelance Editor (Contract) | National Geographic
May 2016–Present

  • I write backgrounders and facilitate article translations across NGM's 35+ international editions.

  • I review articles and create comprehensive explanations for translators regarding elements like figurative language, literary devices, wordplay, idioms, slang, etc.

  • I act as a liaison between researchers and editors and translators around the world.

Freelance Graphic Designer
October 2019–Present

  • I provide print and digital collateral, logo design, and brand development services for businesses, organizations, and individuals.

International Editions Assistant (Temp) | National Geographic
June–September 2014; July–November 2015

  • I was a project-based graphic designer and assistant event coordinator for the 2014 International Media Conference at HQ and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China.

  • I created print and digital products, such as posters, manuals, reports, brochures, signage, etc. for the event.

  • I returned in 2015 as to create a resource guide for local language partners.

  • I also wrote backgrounders for editors and translators.
